Montgomery County Performing Arts Society

About MCPAS

The Montgomery County Performing Arts Society is committed to presenting professional quality performing arts in Montgomery County.

Mission Statement:
The mission of Montgomery County Performing Arts Society is to present professional entertainment and to provide education and outreach opportunities for the enrichment of the community.

Montgomery County Performing Arts Society was formed in 1979 to establish, maintain and encourage the performing arts in Montgomery County, Texas. We hope you will join us in this endeavor to enrich the lives of people who live in our community through the performing arts.

Our audiences have enjoyed all types of music, dance and entertainment over the years from opera to country, from ballroom to ballet, from magic to acrobatics. Our Young Texas Artists music competition is an official competition of the state of Texas and offers cash prize awards as well as an Audience Choice Award where the members of the audience get to choose a winner.

We hold a number of fundraising events each year to help support our efforts to bring high quality performing arts to Montgomery County and, to generate greater awareness of MCPAS and our community outreach efforts. Our Mardi Gras Fundraiser invites other charitable organizations to nominate one of its’ members to represent their organization in our Mardi Gras Court. This allows those representatives the opportunity to further the knowledge of their organization as well.

Our projects include workshops, master classes and shows which introduce and further children’s interest in the performing arts as audience members and through participation on stage. Each year MCPAS sponsors the well-known Missoula Children’s Theatre. Auditions are held on a Monday afternoon for the Missoula performance. The children rehearse all week and are ready to perform on Saturday evening. Over 60 of Montgomery County’s own children are chosen for each performance.

Each year our Board of Directors seeks the best entertainment possible to bring to our community. We have over 25 board members and are in the process of reinstating our “Society,” which is made up of all volunteers. In the past, we’ve had over 100 members.

Our seasons have been partially funded by Conroe Commission on Arts and Culture and we are attempting to acquire grants whenever possible, But, this is not enough! It is only with community support that MCPAS thrives and that is why we are asking for your help. Without you, the show will not go on!
